Without that I couldn't have travelled solo to Berlin and had a panic-free time w my friends and only a healthy amount of anxiety and nervousness! I learned a couple years back that it makes sense to group things outside of my comfort zone into easier, tougher and hard things to do. I just called them comfort zone lists.
The frequency of doing these is something that could be natural or set as a goal. Really depends how much you wanna push yourself 😅

I've experienced these green flags with women all my life, but recently I've experienced this more and more with men. Trauma can really skew your view of yourself and your safety with others. That's why relationship and friendship green flags are something I just regularly check in with internally to review my social network 👀
Some days you won't feel seen and heard because other people might have a hard day and can't hold apace for you. People will still trigger you unintentionally. But if the baseline stays the same about feeling seen most of the time, that person working on themselves most of the time & you knowing they'd be there for you if absolutely necessary, then that's a green flag friendship or relationship 💖
I'm really glad to have healed enough to now feel safe like that with men in friendships and absolutely destroy the notion of men and women not being able to be friends once again (hated that notion since elementary school!) 🥰

For real, their definition of success is different from yours. Others might have the same values and similar goals to you, but defining success goes beyond material things and numerical metrics. Success is a feeling and an environment 🙌🏻
Defining success for myself has been one of the most freeing things ever because I just stopped envying a lot of people and instead looked at them as motivation and fuel to what my version of success is.

💖 DO LESS 💖
a sometimes very painful lesson to learn, because burnout is definitely not my preferred state of being. This has been holding so true the last couple months. I had to concentrate on my work, my studies and my mental health. There wasn't much time for anything else if I wanted to do the three things that I just mentioned with focus. I didn't record or edit my podcast, I didn't write and schedule blog posts, I didn't write newsletters, I didn't schedule posts for this account. I just had my focus on what I knew was important in my life at the moment. My education, my nonprofit & my sanity (which includes friends and family).
What are your 2-4 main things you should potentially throw everything else aside for in times where it's necessary? 💖

💜 BOUNDARIES YOU MIGHT NEED 💜
Boundaries were such a buzz word in my life for so long and I never understood what they exactly meant beyond the basics of consent and obviously uncomfortable situations. I've read "Set Boundaries, Find Peace" not too long ago and it really opened my eyes to how many boundaries I was already kinda setting and how many I should implement. And it came really natural to me over the last months as my stress levels reached a new high. I said no to calls and meeting times I couldn't make or didn't have the energy to. I prioritized what work was high importance and urgency and gave myself the pass to skip the other work on bad days. I communicated when I disliked something. I spoke up for myself, asked for what I needed and made self care activities more of a priority in my work breaks.
...now I only need to figure out how to implement more habits for my backpain and find an ergonomic chair 🤪

-sincerely someone that's constantly leaving it, has lived outside of it in my anxiety disorder days and as someone that knows trauma survivors need to build safety before they can face the healing of their trauma.
Please make lists like this to refer to on bad days or after a trigger. It's these tiny things that make life a bit easier to live 💖 Feel free to share your comfort lists with me!
